Make a Difference Now — Get Involved!

We build power and beauty together, with each warm connection in our community.
Upsetting and disturbing news continues to emerge around us. Yet every act of kindness, every moment of joy, fuels us to act more out of compassion than fear. That is the power we need now, and that is the hallmark of the SHARe community!
Today we are lifting up ways to get involved right now. You’ll find opportunities — starting tomorrow, Saturday — to lift your voice in solidarity, to create art together, to join a shared learning series, to help with SHARe’s welcoming and support efforts, and more.
If you’re looking for a way to lift your spirits and make a difference, read through for some ideas.

Opportunities to Help Now
How might you SHARe your abundance? If you have time in the next couple of weeks, the team would love to hear from you! Email contact@sharevtnh.org.
- Coordination of a project, service, or activity – Taking the lead in even small ways helps us say YES to more volunteers!
- On-call ride team – Occasional rides to work, early mornings, evenings, and weekends, when Advance Transit doesn’t run, often with short notice. Also, medical appointments, social activities, and shopping, where you would stay alongside the newcomer.
- Healthcare accompaniment – Join experienced team members to help newcomers navigate our complex and changing system of care (and payment for that care).
- English lessons and conversations – Opportunities with adults and children, early beginners, and more advanced.
- Legal support navigation – Help those in need of urgent legal support find counsel and complete necessary intake documents. Guidance provided!
- Shopping or social connections – Help with shopping, accompany kids to the Montshire, enjoy a meal together (for example, see below, next Sunday’s meal at First Congregational Church in Lebanon!)
- Material needs – Needs are occurring all the time, and so often, a neighbor in the community has just the thing or a helpful connection. Usually seasonal clothing and household items. Right now, we’re seeking a low-cost or donated minivan to accommodate a family of 6. If you have a car or a connection, please reach out!
- Rapid Response / ICE Alerts – Know Your Rights, neighbor education. Join growing Rapid Response efforts in the Upper Valley and beyond. Email uvimmsolidarity@pm.me to learn more about joining. GET NOTIFIED WHEN ICE IS IN THE UPPER VALLEY – To Get ICE & CBP text alerts: text “alert” to (603) 919-9847
